The blog DIALOGICAL HUMANITIES concerns, as the title indicates, the humanities in general, but not as an invitation to complementary cooperation of disciplines, but as a call for a new stance, which should transform all humanities simultaneously.

The blog DIALOGICAL HUMANITIES is based on Mikhail Bakhtin’s dialogism, which lets us see cultural processes with different eyes. So far having limited ourselves to the emulation of Bakhtin’s teachings, we should switch over to developing from them a new perspective for research and teaching in the Humanities. We propose to call this new perspective “dialogical humanities”. This term implies a dig at the most fashionable „Digital Humanities“. Digital Humanities provide, as we are convinced, monological attributions, which are not suited for the understanding of the crucial phenomenon in the humanities, which is encounter.

You can invite to contribute to the blog anyone who is interested in the questions listed on our objectives page, but the blog is peer-reviewed to prevent a “frazzling” of the discussion.
