Katja Freise: Maturity through dialogue (in German)

Jun 30th, 2015 | By | Category: Dialog, Interpretation, Lectures

How accidental are the “accidents” in a work of art? Are they a result of a pure caprice of the author or do they have a semantic dimension rendering them deeply rooted in the whole of the work and thus making these elements a part of a work’s dialogical structure? Trying to solve these questions, Katja Freise pursues in her lecture the road of Kieślowski’s film protagonist to his maturity, which leads him through the dialogue with the others, with himself and with his environment.

The film clips in this lecture come from the DVD Filmamateur / Der Zufall möglicherweise, Copyright by absolut MEDIEN GmbH, https://absolutmedien.de/

Dr. Katja Freise is lecturer at the Department of Slavic Studies of the University of Göttingen.
